SUNSPOT MONITORING – OCTOBER 15, 2017

Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, October 15, 2017.

The sky was clear with less air turbulence, making the seeing and transparency good at the time these images were taken.

An inactive and spotless Sun with no flaring activity recorded has been observed for a week now. Several prominences at different portions of the Sun’s limbs were captured in H-alpha imagery. The latest sunspot number (based on visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 0.

Space weather agencies* forecast very low solar activity to continue with minimum to no solar flare activity. Close monitoring is being conducted by numerous space weather agencies for any significant development.
