SUNSPOT MONITORING JULY 7, 2017

Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, July 7, 2017.

The sky was hazy and experienced intermittent moderate to strong breeze, making the seeing and transparency pair at the time these images were taken.

Over the past 24 hours, AR2665 has quickly developed more sunspots, signifying its vigorous activity. However, it hasn’t produced any strong flare or coronal mass ejection (CME) activity yet, but possible to produce one, depending on magnetic field intensity, in the coming hours or days. The latest sunspot number (based on visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 23.

SIDC and NOAA-SWPC forecast a persisting low solar activity, with minimum chance of any serious solar flare or CME activity. Close monitoring is being conducted for any significant development.

Overall, solar activity is considered to be very low at this moment.
