Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, August 3, 2017.

The sky was mostly clear but experienced intermittent light to moderate breeze making the seeing and transparency average to poor at the time these images were taken.

Generally very low solar activity was observed over the past 24 hours. Few minor B-class solar flares associated with AR2670 (revisited AR2665) were recorded. Currently possessing beta (bipolar) magnetic configuration, space weather agencies predicted potential further flaring activity (ranging from B-class to C-class; possibly up to M-class) depending on its magnetic flux intensity in the next few days. Some prominences at the limbs were captured on its occurrence in the false color H-alpha image.

The latest sunspot number (based on visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 12.

Close monitoring is being conducted by numerous space weather agencies for any significant development.
