SUNSPOT MONITORING – JUNE 17, 2017

Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, June 17, 2017.

The sky was mostly clear, and experienced intermittent light breeze, making the seeing and transparency fair at the time these images were taken.

There are two active regions present in the Sun’s photosphere; AR2662 and AR2663. The latest sunspot number (based on visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 32.

AR2663 released some B-class flare outbursts which are minor and produced no significant effect to Earth. It was found that these two ARs show signs of decomposition in the coming few days.

With this matter, SIDC and NOAA-SWPC forecast a relatively calm Sun with minimal chance of any serious solar flare or CME activity in the next few days but close monitoring is being conducted for any major development.
