SUNSPOT MONITORING – JUNE 3, 2017

Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, June 3, 2017.

It was generally hazy and breezy, making the seeing and transparency poor, at the time these images were taken.

Active Region (AR) 2661 continues to release more C-class solar flares over the past 24 hours, as expected. The latest sunspot number (based on visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 19.

According to the recent Spaceweather and SIDC reports, there could be more solar flare activity (C-class to minor M-class) associated with this AR in the next couple of days.

The typical solar granulation and a little flare were captured, as shown in the false-color H-alpha image.

Overall, solar activity was found to be low at this moment.
