SUNSPOT MONITORING JUNE 9, 2017

Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, June 9, 2017.

The sky was mostly clear but breezy, making the seeing and transparency poor at the time these images were taken.

Very minimal solar activity was observed over the past 24 hours. AR2661 has decayed rapidly as there were no detected sunspots associated to it; but easily distinguished in the false color H-alpha image. The latest sunspot number (based on visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 10.

With this remark, SIDC and NOAA forecast no significant solar activity in the coming few days.

Overall, solar activity was considered low at this moment.
