SUNSPOT MONITORING – MAY 31, 2017

Here are today’s solar images taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, May 31, 2017.

The sky was clear; while transparency and seeing are fair at the time these images were taken.

The Sun was found to be spotless at this moment with the absence of any active region (AR) in the Sun’s photosphere, signifying its momentary quiescence and magnetic stability. The latest sunspot number (as per our visual count and Wolf number calculation) is 0. On the other hand, there is still some on-going minor solar activity with the presence of some plages, little prominences and granulation.

We’ll keep monitoring for any significant development.
