SUNSPOT MONITORING – MAY 9, 2017

Here’s today’s solar image taken from Al Sadeem Observatory, May 9, 2017.

No significant solar activity was observed as it remains (very) low over the past 24 hours. Almost no sunspots were seen by the time this image was taken, as AR2654 reached the Sun’s NW limb, now out of our view of the photosphere, while AR2655 had completely vanished.

We can definitely describe the Sun to be quiet at thismoment. We’ll keep monitoring.

  • Note that the grayish spot somewhere at the bottom left is not something interesting, but an output of camera lens contamination, to avoid any wrong speculation.
