THE SUN FROM THE OBSERVATORY

The Sun in H-alpha. It has been quiet, with no significant solar activity observed in the past few days except for some prominences seen in the upper and bottom portions of this image. Note that the circular grayish spot seen on the disk (bottom left portion) is NOT something special, but an output of lens contamination.
